Logan's blanket :: Take 2

I tore out the first one I did (blue cotton yarn) after realizing I'd need like 20+ balls of that cotton yarn to make it big enough for him. Opps. LOL

I went to Joanns and with the guidance of my mother picked out a chunkier acrylic/wool blend. I also got thicker needles so knitting 2" takes 20 minutes instead of 8 hours. :-D

I'm a little more than 1/2 way done. I still have to finish the red stripe I'm workin gone....do another black, a red and then a double black stripe...and then it's done.

Are they all yours?

I was asked in Walmart/Dunkin Donuts today "Are they all yours?" and I smiled and said "Yes!".

I really wish I would have come back with a better response though....like

- No, MidCoast was having a buy 3 get one free deal.
- I'm not sure, we're still working on DNA tests.
- No, I stole that one (pointing to Ben).
- I wish. I gather all the kids I can find and take them to Walmart with me for fun. Because taking 4 little boys shopping is a BLAST! (Can you smell the sarcasm????)

Thankfully the lady came back and redeemed herself with a "Good for you!!" and smile so I'll stop my ranting here and let it go.

I need a t-shit that say...
Yes, they're all mine.
Yes, they're ALL boys.
Yes, I'd love to have a girl next time.
Yes, we have a TV.
Yes, we *might* have another someday.
Yes, I realize that how busy I am makes me look tired and old...and no I don't care.

A quote.

"I long to accomplish a great and noble task,
but it is my chief duty to accomplish small
tasks as if they were great and noble."

Update on the boys.

Logan and Billy are spending a few days with Shaun's parents. They'll be back Thursday morning in time for Billy to attend orientation for Kindergarten.

Ben is talking up a storm and has developed quite the cute personality. He's very loving, demanding, and independent at the same time.

Garrett is growing up WAY too fast. He's sitting, and starting to crawl. He still only has the two teeth on the bottom but he's working on more.

Our desktop is on the fritz (caught a bug) so I'm without my graphics program which means I haven't been taking any pictures (since I can't easily re-size/fix them). I promise to post current one of the boys as soon as we're back up and running.

They have all grown so much this summer.

Duh.

I bought a shake on the way home from the dentist thinking the cool drink would feel good on my sore gums and hungry belly. At least it would have felt good if my lips weren't so numb.

I couldn't close my lips around the straw.

No lip closing = no suction when you suck.

Duh.

Knitting - Logan's blanket

My knitting is getting better. I'm going to make each boy a blanket as practice.

Here's a look at what it looks like so far

I'm making my own pattern up as I go along.

Learning to knit.

I'm learning how to knit (again LOL). I've known how since I was a young child but have never perfected it enough to actually make something other than a dishcloth or a scarf.
So for practice I've made two dishcloths...here's the first...

I know....it's soooo impressive isn't it. LOL At least I'm proud....and it's useable. The second one came out better but I wiped up baby puke with it before I could take a picture of it so I'll have to post one once it's out of the wash.

My next project is going to be a hat.

Woolwich Days 2008

We took Snowflakes on the road to Woolwich Days. The boys had a blast and I even sold a few things. Garrett slept most of the time but when he was awake he smilied at everyone who looked his way. Grandpa watched the boys while they jumped in a blow-up jumping thing. Logan and Billy even got their picture in the newspaper. I'll scan it in as soon as the desktop is back up and running.
