I stocked these booties: Chrysalis- 0-3 MONTHS - Mary Jane Booties

and this soaker: Turning Leaves - Soaker - SMALL

At Bitty Fluff earlier today.

Mosaic Moon "Srappy" Sweater

I finally finished Garrett's Euclid cardigan today. The knitting part was done a couple days ago but I had to wash and block it before I sewed the zipper in.

I found a great tutorial on how to sew a zipper in here: http://pickinandthrowin.blogspot.com/2007/02/sewing-zipper-into-cardigan.html

All of the colorway yarns were dyed by my favorite yarn dyer, Mosaic Moon. http://hyenacart.com/MosaicMoon/

I dyed the trim myself. I actually dyed it to do a striped sweater for last year but never got around to it. It has several shades of brown that match every colorway I used. For me, that is what makes scrappy projects pleasing to the eye. To each their own, that is just what floats my scrappy boat.

The night I finished it I laid a zipper in it to see how it was going to look...and no more then 15 seconds after I placed it on the floor to take a picture...Bruin plops his cat butt on it.

Declan loves spaghetti.

I mean REALLY loves it. He ate/wore two whole bowls of it last night.
The shampoo bubbles were orange when I scrubbed it out of his hair.

On The Needles 9/18/11

This week I'm still working on what I started last week.
The trio of soakers, a small pair of scrappy longies with the leftover soaker yarns, and I cast on a sweater for Garrett using up a bunch of Mosaic Moon scraps.

Buy it! It's worth every penny. I'm already planning my second Euclid Cardi project. :)

Truthful Thursday: PJ Days

Pajama days are one of my favorite things about being a SAHM (stay-at-home-mom).

Today is a PJ day. It's the first really cold morning and everyone has a runny nose. I actually did get dressed...but only because I ran to Dunkin Donuts to get a coffee and I won't leave the house (not even to step outside...and I usually won't even open the door if I don't have a bra on) not being dressed.

This photo sums up our morning:

And if you ever wondered if giraffe's eat bananas...we now know they do. They drive compact cars too.

Mosaic Moon "Barn Owl" Longies

http://www.ravelry.com/projects/melissalaurel/barn-owl-longies

I used all but a tiny portion of colorway on these.

Pocket, trim, and white on the owl is undyed Mountain Meadow Worsted.
Owl was duplicate stitched and then outlined with cascade 220.
Orange is bulky something-left-over from old projects.
Buttons are from Tessa Ann.

Declan has a runny nose and was not up for modeling today.

Billy, Bruin, & Brady

No cats have ever been loved more then ours.

They are always being held and babied by somebody.

On The Needles 9/7/11

Last weeks vest and booties are finished so I get to cast on all new projects this week. I LOVE casting on projects...if I could cast on and do 1/2 the work and have someone finish it for me...that would be awesome!! :)

I started with longies for Declan out of this yarn:
Mosaic Moon "Barn Owl" on Mountain Meadow Worsted with undyed trim (also MMW)

I actually just completed the longies tonight, but I think they need a pocket, or an embroidery, or something. They're begging to be personalized.

Next I'm knitting soakers to stock at Bitty Fluff and etsy in these colorways:

Back To School

Today was the first day of school for three of our Riley boys. They were various degrees of nervous...but they all came home with smiles. Upon asking how their first day was I got from Logan "Boring.", from Billy "Awesome!!!", and from Ben "Good.".

Of course it was cold and rainy (only because we bought short sleeve shirts this year) so we had to take photos inside. I wasn't sure if I should have used flash or if I had enough light...should have used a flash.

Bags are packed.

Boys are ready (nervous/confused/excited..huge range of emotions going on there)

The beautiful yellow bus. :)

And we were down to two. TWO children. What a difference having three less people around makes (good and bad).

So excited for my guys and the new year ahead of them. Friends to be made, new experiences to enjoy, an exciting year for all three of them.

I have lots of fun planned for Garrett too. Declan still naps so I'm going to do some fun play with him then. I bought new playdoh for tomorrow...can't wait to play and enjoy some one on one time with him. :)

Truthful Thursday: The Living Room

The Truth: Our living room is never clean.

If you are here and it is clean it's because either:
1) We knew you were coming!! :-)
or
2) "Mom's in one of those moods."

Otherwise it always looks like this. It can be worse, or a little neater but this is usually how we "live" in the Living Room.

20110831_21

I spy:
Sofa Pillows
Popcorn
Toys Everywhere
Random Laundry
Bins from the boys rooms.
A naked doll.
Tray to an old stroller.
"Stuff that has been taken away for misuse" on top of the entertainment cabinet.
Entertainment cabinet in total disarray.

Ugh...can't believe I'm going to push "Publish Post"...big girl panties on...
